Multi media Tag

Hello Everyone.
I was lucky to win some stamps from Rubber Dance a few weeks back, and this little girl with wings is part of Fly With Me set.
The background is made with Alcohol inks, distress inks, crackle paste, then lightly stamped in Archival black.
Layering up with Organza leaves then a Heart.
I stamped and fussy cut the girl and enhanced her with inks and off cuts lying around my desk,
Adding glass bead gel on the wings for texture.

This is the Challenge over on The Rubber Dance Blog .

Adding Fabric to a card.

Hello Everyone,
This is a card with a background that has been created with paints, inks, collage and dry embossing.

There are six layers before you reach the butterfly which has been softened with organza.

The materials are cocoon strippings, teadye silk, gauze and burnt Organza  juxtaposed with gold paper, twine and corrugated cardboard to create a tactile and textural piece.
Seed beads were added to finish off.

Butterfly and Blooms

Hello Everyone,
I am still working with my Gelli prints I made a few weeks back.
Mixed media is always a go to for me when I make cards, and this week is no exception.

The three substrates plus the Heart is all from gelli printed paper.
I enhanced these backgrounds with stamps and stitching, plus Tar gel medium on the Heart.
Adding the lace and gauze for a tactile effect.
The three circle blooms are embossing paste.
And to complete adding 3 weeny buttons.

Entering into these Challenges this month.

Hope you are having a great week.

Mixed media and the Gelli plate

Hello Everyone.
When you play with the Gelli plate, you end up with quite a number of wonderful backgrounds, I usually set aside an afternoon and just print off sheet after sheet of different substrates to use at my leisure. Below is one such print, as you can see I have used some embossing paste randomly to add more texture.
Here is the card that was made from this piece of paper.
I have used the JOFY 24 set of stamps to make the flower.
JOFY Stamp Set 24
I then worked on my substrate with a few glazes to bring out more contrast and depth.
Top right you will observe some gold flakes.
The centre of the flower is a collection of glass beads.
I made a strip using organza in similar colours.

Inspiration was this post by Sue Carrington, the magenta on her flowers popped for me.

Working with Fibres

Hello Everyone,
I am working with fibres at the moment, which I find very relaxing. My intention  was to make a piece that represents New Zealand; a country that has wonderful colours all year round.
It is also a gift for a friend that will be visiting from the UK.

I will start with the Bg which was painted  (gelli plate) and stamped, then stitched randomly.

The flower was cut using lace, tyvek, and fantasy film and the centre is a little piece of Paua shell; commonly used in Maori carvings, and traditionally represents the stars in the sky.
I have tried to recreate the iridescence  of this shell using the fibres and beads.

Many layers sewn by hand...took me ages.
 This will be framed.
I see NZ in this piece; a small part of this amazing planet called Earth.

Hope you are having a great day

Mixed Media Card

I am only posting once a month these days as I am a little busy, but I thought you may like to see what I made this week.
I spent a day in the garage making up Backgrounds with the Gelli plate including stencils, and I liked this Bg so much it inspired me to make this card.

I also made the Tyvek Bg behind the chipboard butterfly.
The text stamping  was added then I stitched in the left hand corner.

The element and main focal point has a Bg of painted Tyvek, I have combined layers of different media, added the glass seed beads, stitching and then cut the butterfly out of the Background paper, but this time I included foil sweet papers.
I would like to enter my card into these Challenges:

Mixed media cards

It has been awhile since I last posted circumstances allowed me to have some playtime in the craft room and I made some master boards, from these boards I made two cards.

The card below is my entry into the Challenge:Anything mixed media at Love to Create.

The Bg has many layers of glazes to create depth, then I applied some stamping and painted tissue paper. Dry embossed then highlighted in Gold
Diecut the flower from the same master board.
Painted up some cardstock in Teal Acrylic and diecut the glamour bits.
Have a great day
