I long to see the Butterflies!

Hello Everyone,
It has been a long cold wet winter here in NZ, our Spring does not arrive for at least another month, I thought if I made a card in warm hues and add this wonderful creature it may remind the sun that it can start shining brightly and the flowers will bloom and we will see the butterflies.

I applied many layers of paint including Gold, then stamps, stencilling and stitching before  dry embossing onto my substrate.

I also made up some paper from painted up tissue, this was used for the butterfly.
I added another layer, then the little watch workings.

Collaged a sentiment.

added some crackle to the Arrow as I like to mix up my media on all of my projects.

Frilly and Funkie's challenge is a great one- "Things with Wings" and I know I am not very original in my creation where the Wings are concerned, but I do love working with butterflies on my cards especially.

Thanks for the visit and
have a great weekend.

Special Notecards.

Hello Everyone,
I have some lovely note-cards to share today, I think they would make a gorgeous gift for a person who has everything. I have not decided who I will give them to as yet as I am enjoying them myself at the moment.
I have used the cutting file Mini Note card and Card set from The Cutting Cafe.
I also used The Matchbox Set  as I wanted a box for some of them.

Click on pics for close up views.

First up are the little note cards.
Prima paper punched with a stitching style and placed on the front of the note card.

Stamped and painted with a bird and gold foil applied to the body
I painted up some paper.
and cut/embossed some frames for the envelopes.
I finished off this set with a Gold ribbon.

The second set.
Making the substrate- Painted card stock and foil from chocolates
Adding organza.
My artistic stitching.
Made up the note cards.

I made some butterflies using the same technique and attached it to the front of the cards.

Here they all are.
Now for the matchbox-
this is the casing.
Another butterfly attached to the front.
pull out the drawer and the note cards sit perfectly inside.

One file, two different looks.

You do not need a machine to cut these files, it can easily be done with scissors or craft knife.

All Dt projects are posted at The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of each month.
We would love for you to visit and be sure to leave a comment for Regina.
She selects one lucky person to receive 3 FREE files of their choice!

Have a great weekend.
