Visual Journey page #4

Hello Everyone
Here I am with another double spread for my Journal and Brendas March Link Up of her 'Visual Journey' (#4  for me.)
I go through the same process with the substrate;Gesso then different colour glazes until I like what I see, then I add the embellishments...The image of the girl has had many coats of paint applied, then I finished off with glass bead gel, as I wanted some texture.
The words say it all.

Please click on the images to see the detail.

Smiles:)
Sue

This is remarkable. No matter how or what or who you draw strength and inspiration from, these journal pages quickly make your mind think of them and how they will help you through it...whatever it is. I love the singular image of the woman that is defined by textured shadow and the symbolism of the sentiment that reminds she's not alone.
Maybe I'm being too deep, but it moved me. I love it!!

Oh what beautiful pages for a song I love (Judy Garland for me, or there's an amazing piano version by Nina Simone that I'll need on my desert island!)... the colours are so full of depth and atmosphere, and the textures are amazing. Wonderful, Sue!

Such wonderful dramatic pages Sue. You have created a wild depth with the layers and muted, but intense, colour palette and the effects match the song words beautifully. I love this. Thanks for sharing at Visual Journey.
Have a great weekend.
hugs Brenda xxxx

Beautiful texture! Wow! I really like how you blended the background and then the harlequin diamonds just pop off the page. Great work.
