Stencil card #2

Hello Everyone,
This is my second card as Dt for Country View Crafts  and the current Challenge:

On this occasion I used texture paste.

Darkening the edges with walnut stain distress ink, and finished off with a word.

Participating in the Simon Says Monday Challenge: mid-summer.

It has turned out quite an Arty card, which I am rather partial to.
If you have not already joined in the Challenge at Country View Crafts, you still have some time before the end of this month. Click here.

The Potent Poppy

Hello Everyone,
The Poppy is the symbol of Morpheus; the Greek god of dreams, uncanny then that it has narcotic properties.  If you have ever seen a poppy in its process of growth, you've observed just before blooming, the bud hangs its head - heavy with the promise of blossom. In fact, the cocooned bud seems to droop in somnolence, as if enchanted with floral dreams.
Poppies come in many colours but it is the Red flower that is electric and aflame with vitality
It's not just any red, but a staggering, shockingly vibrant red.
I have tried to relate this ebullience on my card.

'
The Flower is the Penny Black Poppy so it is appropriate that I enter this creation into their Saturday Challenge: Buttons and Bows.
My bow is made from twine with a wooden button attached.
I stamped the Poppy twice and coloured up with watercolours, then fussy cut the centre petal of the second one and 3d it with a pop up square.

I am also entering the Stamping Sensations July challenge - Summer Blooms.

Also the good news is that Rob returns to work tomorrow he is feeling great. I survived the month he has been home, I will be pleased to return to my crafting without interruptions  every 20mins!
Have a great week,
Smiles:)

Stencil cards.

Hello Everyone,
I used one stencil, two colours with a touch of transparent paint added and the Gelli plate. (Gelli printing video here. )
The card shape was cut on the cricut.
I am entering this card into the Penny Black and More Challenge:
'Use Your Favourite Stamp'.
This was the first butterfly stamp I purchased, it is a large stamp and perfect for fussy cutting and embossing it also has spaces if one chooses to doodle; It is very versatile in creating different looks. Definitely my favourite on the shelf.
 'Blue Wings'(2422J).

 Gelli plate, Paints and Stencil.
 Brayer with Raw Umber Acrylic.
 Lay the stencil on top.
Brayer Iridescent Gold and a touch of transparent Iron oxide.
Lift  the first print off with deli paper.
Remove the stencil, and you are left with a design.
Lift off your final print onto card stock.
Stamp the butterfly x2 in Black Archival.
Fussy cut and adhere the cold laminate butterfly on top.

 Add a sentiment.
I also made a few in Black and White.
This butterfly was cut from the deli paper.

And as promised this is how to make a substitute for a Gelli plate:
Cover a glass chopping board with a towel and Black plastic then tape tightly until you have a smooth flat surface.

Hope you will enter this months Challenge at CVC, we would love to see your creations, there is more wonderful inspiration for you to salivate over and covering a few genres here.

P.S.... Rob is feeling much better, and is looking forward to returning to work in two weeks time, he is going stir crazy at home, not with me I am pleased to say but because he is so bored. I do understand how hard it is for him to adjust to quiet non eventful days.

Smiles:)
Sue
