A mini book.

Hello Everyone,
Today at Country View Crafts, our lovely Trace has set a theme and  it is all about
 'Bugs, Bees and Butterflies'.
I am not fond of Bugs or Bees and neither is Scarlett (Gd) and as this little book was for her as a learning reference to these insects, it had to relate at least  some attractiveness as well as interest. So colour and texture are the go-to in the first instance.

I started with constructing the inserts for the book.
Using a Cornflake box and gesso as my substrate before painting.

Paints, Inks and stencils applied to the inserts.

Printed out the Title and diecut, then inked up.
... these are all the inserts.
Painted cardstock in Red, stamped two Lady bugs and cut them out.
Attached it over the stamped Lady bug, added a Bumble bee and the Butterfly.
This is the book cover.
First page.
Adding the texture with flowers, leaves and stencils.
Doodling work on each page.
Second Page.
Attaching the Bees more stencil work and texture paste.
If you click on the pics you will notice glossy accents on the wings.
Third Page.
Diecut two different Butterflies; one inked and the other inked and Utee applied.
More texture with the chrysalis and the word.
Last page.
Here a serviette is applied with matte medium, with more doodling and stencils.

This is the finished size....perfect for a little hand.
Scarlett I am pleased to say loved it.

Of course there are more wonderful creations to see over at Country View Crafts, if you are inspired by anyone's work please feel free to join in the fun this month.
