A Shabby 'Delight'

Hello Everyone,

Today at Scottie Crafts for my Dt project I have decorated a Box using the Prima Delight range of papers and chipboard pieces. If you want a step by step on how I made it just click here.

It has layers and layers of elements and papers that give the box an almost epicurean appeal.
I loved making it.

Hope all is well with you all and thanks so much for your visit today,

G45-12 days of Christmas Card.

Hello Everyone,
Two Posts in two days, which is very prodigious of me but 'House of Cards'  has their Colour/Inspiration Challenge which is of course Shabby chic/Vintage week and being on the Dt for this genre, I have a card to inspire you to participate.

The card Bg is the die-cut from Memory Box(Frostyville Border). Then layered up some embossed strips and stitched.

I used the spellbinders circle and the clock face was cut on the cricut.
Some fussy cutting of the Dove and Holly completes the focal  image of the card.

My embellishments are some bling for the berries and painted up buttons with twine.
The inspiration for the card was from this image:  I loved the colour palette, but I also wanted to create some movement as the Poppies look as if they dancing.

You will see more lovely cards over on the HOC blog and you can join in the Challenge too.
Atypical for me to provide you with two posts in two days.

Hope you are having a good day.

A 'Delight'-ful card.

Hello everyone,
Monday morning here in New Zealand, and I am sharing another card that I have made with the Prima 'Delight' range, for Scottie Crafts.

What you are looking at here are the main elements that I have added to the card, as one of my blogger friends would say; 'Adding the Glamour.'   I love this discription as this is what I try to do with most of my creations.

Would you agree?

If you want a step by step on how I created this card, just click here.

Rob and I went away for the weekend to Whitianga on the Coromandel, a most beautiful peninsula here in NZ. We went on a boat trip to view the Volcanic Caves and were surprised and delighted to come upon a pod of killer Whales( Orcas) frolicking along the rocks, I was enthralled by them, they came right up to the boat and it was just magical.
If you ever have the chance to visit this country, do not pass it up.

Have a great week crafting,

A Vintage Christmas Cracker

Hello All
Something a little different today.
Its Blog Hop time at Scotties and it's Christmas Crackers all week!
So hop over to their Blog here for all the information on the Challenge there is going to be a wonderful prize.  (If you like Memory Box, then you need to do this!)
(Psst.... you only have to visit one Blog each day!)

                                               Here is my Vintage Cracker.

Use fairly thick, stiff paper which folds in neatly.
I used Kaisercraft,  'St Nicholas Collection.'
Trim your piece of paper to 8 1/2 ins by 6ins.

Mark from the edge 6,8,and 10cms from top to bottom- both sides and score.
Fold in on it self, right sides together and cut V slits, making sure to leave a small space between each cut.
Punch a decorative edge.
Another view of the folds.
Place toilet tube in the middle of the cracker, roll up and glue edges to secure in place.
Click here and it will take you to many sites that show you different ways to put a cracker together, in case you are not able to follow my instructions.

I stitched and added some stickles.
Then I just decorated it up with all manner of things.

The best thing about making your own crackers, is that it’s a little individual gift for your guests.

Ooop's nearly forgot....
You will want to know my secret words:
 'for a'
Good Luck and don't forget to check in on the Scotties Blog tomorrow.

I am entering this cracker into Allsorts Challenge: ' Christmas Cheer' .
