Utterly Shabby and Vintage.

Hello Friends
For those who know me, you will not be surprised to see how I have designed this Christmas card, I do love Shabby chic and Vintage style in card making, many of my creations are made in this vein and for my next Dt card at Scotties  I used this Vintage Father Christmas from the Kaisercraft- St Nicholas Collection.
You can view these fabulous Papers on my post here at Scottie Crafts.

This is the first background piece, the Gold embossed paper unfortunately photographs Yellow.
The second Bg has stitching and a made up Shabby sentiment.

The flower was cut using theTim Holtz Tattered florals die.

Adding the necessary pearls and yes, it came together beautifully.
It is not for everyone this genre, but I love the tactile quality that the lace brings to this creation, I could never throw this card away, and it will not be sold but kept for a special person.

Thanks for the visit, I do appreciate your wonderful comments.

Shabby-Chic September at HOC.

Hello Friends.
This months challenge at House of Cards is a colour palette and inspiration  and we ask that you use at least three colours on your project to enter it.

Here is my Design Team inspiration for this weeks colour palette challenge.

vintage hues

I chose Pink Blue and Mauve.

The Prima Flowers have been entwined with organza ribbon, lace and some fibres.

Air Dry Clay was used to make the sentiment, then inked over with Black Soot Distress Inks.

Just remember this is the Shabby and Vintage week at HOC.

Thanks for visiting,

Autumn colours.

Hello My Friends,

I am the Guest Designer for Sugar Creek Hollow today,  for their 'Fall is in the Air' Challenge. I hope this card will encourage you to hop across and join in this week.

I cut the leaves on the Cricut, and inked them up with Distress Inks.

Using Archival Black I stamped  some text.

Building the Bg, first with paints then Stamps and Penny Black Stickers and quote.

More shading and finally dry embossing.
Adding the elements, this metal leaf was altered with paints to create a rusty effect and metal brads for the centres of the flowers.
And needless to say I have to add some stitching and lace.
Remember you can click on image to see the details.

I am entering this card into:

A Twinchie Book.

Hello everyone,
I had some "Kaisercraft- the St Nicholas Collection" , paper to work with this week for my Scotties DT project, and it is full of little vintage images, which I thought was perfect to make a little flipbook for Scarlett this Christmas.

I have written a step-by-step tutorial for this project over on the Scotties blog here if you are  interested in how it was put together.
Here are a few pictures to wet the appetite.

I decorated each pocket both sides.

It was quite fiddly to put together as I accumulated a number of 2 inch elements, and more than once some were misplaced for the book on my work desk to be recovered from the floor and other hidden areas, some I never found!
However it was a most enjoyable project to make, and I am sure Precious will love it.

Hope you all have a great week creating, and thanks for the visit.
Smiles :-)

A taglit!

Good morning all,
Taglit- means mini tag, and this is my Monday offering to Scotties as  part of their Dt, and if you have been hopping across these past few weeks you would have found some wonderful inspiration and a few tips as well from a selection of talented crafters.

I have explained how I have put this little treasure together on their Blog here.
My apologies for the short post, but I am all drugged up trying to persuade this flu virus to depart to a place where it will be much happier than in my body.

Have a great week.
