Soft and Shabby.

Hello Friends
It is the last week of August and it is the turn of the Shabby/Vintage team (my genre) to show you their creations at House of Cards Challenge, and this month we were given a sketch.

Like most, Butterflies are a common element on my cards and all I saw on this sketch was the butterfly, so that was my immediate inspiration, then I went from there, I made my Bg's with watercolour paints,  stamped and stitched the first one, embossed the second and cut a circle with the third.

The butterfly's body is made from metallic threads.
My paper flowers have been toned down with gesso.
The lace and netting a must for a Shabby Chic feel.

A delicate pastel card; balanced with warm and cool colours, happily co-existing as they blend beautifully with the tinted Whites.
More than any palette it relates a vulnerability.

Please hop across to HOC and join in this fun Challenge.

Also over at Top Tip Tuesday  there is a very interesting Challenge that I am entering this card into:
Use two things using your Initials
S.B. -Shabby stitching and Butterfly.

Thanks for your visit today.
Smiles:)
Sue

Well of course metallic thread! LOL...Onion that is superb. I enlarged it immediately and took it all in. Your bg papers are always the best and your detail to texture and layering always come through so wonderfully in your photos. Such a beautiful make with this inspiring sketch!!

This is one amazing creation based on that sketch that most people would use for a CAS card! Wow--I love the colors, the layers, the butterfly & flowers--never thought to tone down paper flowers with Gesso--thanks for the tip! You always amaze me, Sue!
