First Challenge for 2013

Hello everyone,
Well, we are already five days into the New Year, and I am looking forward to what lies ahead not only in my personal life but in my utopian sphere as well.
Over at Our Creative Corner the first Challenge for 2013 is an inspirational photo, our Hostess Sharon is in charge and she has specified that we use the colours Pink, Aqua and a Flower.
Working with soft muted hues is always a delight for me, and so it was pleasurable in many ways to work with this theme. Gosh it feels good to be back to a routine, I may get some cards made now.

The photo inspired me to make a shabby chic card and after all the Christmas Flags and cards of late, it was a wonderful change to create within one of my favourite genres.

I wanted to relate a soft and understated feel with the palette, which is not always easy to do, especially when you have been working with Christmas colours for the past month, I found my thought processes were wondering.... still feeling in the festive mood perhaps.... I don't really know, other than I consciously had to work hard to keep within the colour palette.

The card has many elements, which I so love to add to my creations, not to every-ones taste, but that is what makes us card-makers unique, we are all trying to create the perfect piece in our own way.

My flower and leaves were hand-made, coloured up with distress inks, and titivated to form the desired effect.
Then it is a case of adding the pearls, ribbon, lace and organza to tie the design together.

I hope you will join in this week at Our Creative Corner, I will look forward to seeing your creations and how you interpret the inspiration that is provided so enthusiastically by my teamies here.

Smiles:)
Sue

I see not one speck of Christmas anywhere on here, so you've done well to venture past the holidays and delved right back into Shabby chic and oh what a pool of delight it is!!
I cannot believe the flower and leaves are handmade. I mean, I do believe it, but confirmation was needed as they are perfection. Is that just paper for the leaves? Gorgeous layout Onion and without a doubt you've leapt full on into your mojo for 2013!!
hugs to you my friend,
Quirks
