Adding some spice to Woodgrain.

 Hello everyone,

The title may seem ambiguous, but this week the challenge at Our Creative Corner  is to "Use woodgrain." the title conjures up all manner of images that relate to wood and the grain, but to me I only had one image and one thought in mind, and that was Autumn.
Lily is our hostess and she has stated that we may use any technique to simulate woodgrain, but you also have to include a button on your project.

I embossed a woodgrain design on White card stock, then on top of this I stamped the woodgrain design in Brown Ink.
The background  of my card was stamped twice  using the ' Hero Arts'  envelope Bg stamp.
There are two diecut leaves, which I have inked up in distress stains, and added some crackle accents, the brown leaf is real from my garden (this is my bit of spice!)
To add a little interest, I included a mini butterfly.
The burlap, button and twine are my elements, to create some harmony and balance.

Hope you can join us this week, my fellow teamies have some more inspiring work for you to see, so pop over and have a look here.

Smiles :-)

Those leaves are amazing, Sue! Everything ties together perfectly, as always with your work. I love your choice of the button & burlap & the strip of woodgrain instead of covering the whole card. Beautiful work!
