We should act more, think less, and stop watching ourselves live."

What a fab remake Sue! There's so much warmth and depth to the colours and your flower is gorgeous!! Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Irairascreacorner.blogspot.com
Great work on this challenge, Sue, but I must admit that I really like the first one too. Maybe im wacky, but I think your border placement is great at the top-adds interest. the BG on the new one is really wonderful and I love your bird! Have a great weekend.Hugs,Linda
Just love these colours Sue! and your little bird is adorable. Very artsy :)
It's amazing how much we all learn and grow - love your make-over, Sue! So beautiful! :)
I do love your makeover card, Sue! That background is fabulous...perfect for the darling little bird, trim and wonderful flower!
I love both cards and those are both gorgeous! The handmade flower on makeover card is fabulous! ... :)
I'm back! Blogger and the Internet had me in a black hole, but I've found myself again back in the inspirational grasps of your talented blog...phew!!!! Well, I hate to say it, but I like your first card too. The ribbon border, I took to symbolize clouds. Odd as that may sound, I think the mind interprets images and immediately tries to make sense or categorize that which they are looking at. On the other hand, there is so much MORE flowing movement to your remake. Keeping the background and bird were excellent choices...definitely key focal points. I had the best laugh that we both made reference to "crap" in our posts...Ha! Here's to ascending the pedestal...may we never reach the top!Hugs to you and your amazing talent Onion. ;)Quirks
Hi Sue, love the 'after' card although I have to say that the 'before' one wasn't as bad as you seem to think. Why is it that we are all so critical of our work. It's not often that I am totally happy with what I have made, there always seems room for improvement. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the lovely comments.hugs Kimx
Both cards have a fantastic theme, but I love love love the new one!!! Stitching gets me every time!!! I love your bird coloration and the flower is fantastic, and that background leaves me swooning!!!!
fabulous make over Sue. Must admit your new card is easier on the eye....not saying the original was nice... but how you have grown... Love the flower and the softness of the second bird. All in all, one beautiful card.
What a great idea, Sue - will have to do this!! A gorgeous re-take on your original card! That flower and and inky background so beautiful!
I just adore the background colours in your makeover card, Sue. Yum, yum! I quite like your first card, but little bird is nicer in the makeover. Definitely warm and engaging :)Chris
What a fabulous card make-over with your signature style, Sue! Love the remade card with all of the pretty colors you used. PS: Could you please email me at email@example.com...I can't seem to find your email anywhere and have some info to send your way. Thanks! :)
what a gorgeous creation!! Thank you so much for sharing with us at Allsorts and good luck in the prize draw!
Love your new version - I love the way you have added snatches of the background stamps and I'm with you on the border placement. The flower on your first one was pretty awesome though. Thanks for your lovely comments, hugs Buttons x
Well--I so admire your ability to analyze your work & that of others. I wouldn't have figured out what the original needed, but you did & the new card is scrumptious! Thanks for your comments, my friend, helping me to progress.
That's quite a hard challenge to do, but so helpful to make you grow as an artist. The bird does look much better grounded and I like the blended colors - gives it a more subtle look compared to the pops of colour look in the original. I also really like the way your eye is led from the top left to flow down to the bottom right. Keep learning and pushing yourself - you get fantastic results :-)
Such a beautiful makeover card! Love your background, the colors you used , and I agree with Dawn that the new card is much easier on the eye.
Great card love the coloursThanks for playing in our distressed challenge at Allsorts this weekEmma xxx
It's gives such a great achievement to see how much one has improved over the months! Great job, Sue!
