'Hostess with the Most-est'... well I try.

Hello my friends.

Our Creative Corner  (My Challenge)

Indeed I would love to be the Hostess with the Most-est, but the competition is arduous in this  virtual environment of card making, and the talent that is on my OCC team alone is nonpareil.
I have been waiting in the wings since February for my turn to contribute and set a Challenge.
I am so excited, not least in the fact that I can choose the genre! And no surprise to many of you I chose:
"A Little Shabby Chic"
Most of you will have seen my Shabby side, and some will have seen my CAS side, I can tell you with unmitigated confidence that I entertain the former with absolute delight, as opposed to feeling handicapped with the latter.

For your delight then and inspiration here is my Shabby card.

The beautiful elements; I love these glass drop beads hanging from my delicate dyed ribbon, where I have also added a pearl button.

The flower, I make my Roses from my own paper that I paint up in water-colours, using the TH Tattered Florals die-cut.

Now add and add--- organza, lace, pearls, burlap and leaves, anything to create texture and dimension.
Create a tactile environment on your project.

Look at all my different fibres I have going on, the spray is busy and engaging, the soft fragile palette of the delicate pastels; a mix of both warm and cool colours, are the easiest of all the palettes to combine, and always blend beautifully.

And again another look at the finished card, where you can pick up the embossed Bg which has been painted in metallic gold and sanded down a little, then popped up for dimension.
Some of my stitching on another layer, which has some stamping haphazardly placed.
Then choose your card, I went with a soft Pink shaped card.

And to complete, finish off the inside as well.
'Have some fun with this'.

Now it is your turn, I hope this card is inspiring for you to enter this week at OCC and provide me with utter JOY of seeing your projects, I am so eager to see what you create.
My fellow teamies have some wonderful examples as well so pop over HERE, and you will see them all.

Have a most enjoyable week.

Ehhhh, it's okay....
I'M KIDDING!!!! I shall commence bowing.
By now, you are quite aware of the league of crafting I find you in and it seems unfathomable for me to surmise a new and creative way to depict just how amazing your shabby chic flair is, without coming off redundant.

I shall exit backwards now while in full bow stance.... :D

I guess I could'a said, it's NEATO!! Don't think I've used that one yet.

Wowzers, a truly shabbilicious piece of eye candy here Sue!!! Totally drop dead gorgeous. The spray you made of handmade flowers and other shabby treasures has me drooling. This is truly the epitome of shabby. You have given us all something to aspire to. I could sit and look at this all day, just drinking in it's shabby beauty.

Thanks for one amazing challenge! You definitely were the hostess with the mostess.

OMW Sue, this is a style I truly love, I'm very much 'into vintage and shabby chic' myself and I adore your gorgeous flower arrangement.
