I made Top Three.....

Okay Everyone all together now.....

 Three Cheers for ME!
Hip Hip Hooray
Hip Hip Hooray
Hip Hip Hooray.

The law of averages has won out, as I knew it would eventually, and the girls over at Just Add Ink  have acknowledged me by putting me in their Top Pick with my Sympathy card. It has taken 6 months of entering Challenges to get this far!!!!!!
Just as well I don't do this for a financial reward I would be well and truly down and out!
Excited to see my card there I must say, I have to acknowledge that the image was a gift from Chris R at ellascraftcreations so I have to thank her so much for sending it to me, so in respect it has been a joint effort.
Now I have passed this hurdle, next one is to actually win something!!!!

That was the news of the day now for the card of the day!
Back to my stitching  with this one, I cannot stay away from it for too long.........

I am entering this into the Crafty Purple Frog Challenge (Going Green).
And also Creative Card Crew (Show us some Green)

Sympathy Card

Hello Everyone.

I have linked this card up to Make it Monday  as it is one of my favourites that I have made, and I would like to share it with you, for those who have not seen it.

My card today was made up following the sketch at:
Just Add Ink Challenge #59

 Well I tried to follow!!

As you can see I have not made a circle Sentiment, why you may ask, and you have every right to ask why, well to be quite frank it looked damned awful on this card!
So I hope the girls at JAI allow me some individual creative licence, and I am not deleted off, it is all about interpretation anyway isn't????

My stamped image was a gift from my friend ( Chris R) and I was eager to do it some justice, as I do not cut up squares this small ever!
It is such a lovely image, and I think perfect for this card.
I am guessing distress inks have been used, you may also be able to pick up in the photo a background silver swirl, it is very subtle, looks like dots when it first catches your eye.

For a change I used the CB to emboss my background.
I can hear you all gasp..........
What NO stitching and No Cricut!.
Is this not a pleasant change for you all!!!!!!! ha

Have a great Day.

Tag

Try it on Tuesday is a challenge Blog that my friend Chris thought I would like, and she was so right.
I made this Tag for the Challenge:  The theme you must feature a woman on a Tag.

As soon as I saw the Challenge for this week I knew I had the perfect stamp.

I stamped it up with Black soot and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks.
Threaded some beads and added the lace and prima embellishment to make it a shabby chic which I really love and it is all done!

Ten little butterfly's.......

Good morning everyone.
And it is such a beautiful morning here in Auckland with the sun shining in clear blue skies, makes you feel good to be alive. I know how lucky I am to be living in such a wonderful country.
My card today was created using the cricut, so as far as design was concerned it was not too much of a challenge, sometimes one must be kind to the old brain cells and not put them under so much stress, and this card was fun to make, and it should mainly all be about having some fun and enjoyment, sometimes there is so little of it around.

I am entering this little beauty in the Wee Memories Challenge #47
Sponsored by Annabelle Stamps Theme Spring/Green.

Take note of the Button..... It is made from NZ Paua Shell.

Your History lesson for today is the Paua.
It is only found in the waters around New Zealand, it is a marine mollusk, and lives on the rocks, there is no other shell in the world that has these colours, they range from greens, pinks, purples, and blues, and even sometimes with gold and crimson.
It is the iridescence of the colours, similar to Mother of Pearl but far more brilliant that make it such a wonderful shell to work with.
Jewellery being the most popular.

Here it is in it's raw state.

Side view of butterfly's all have been individually stuck on.

I made my card with these colours in mind.
The papers are my own, made from water colours on 185 gsm paper.

                           It is a great day.
And thanks so much for looking.

Creating once more.....

Hello Everyone.
I went to Stamp Group Yesterday at our local store, I was hoping to find some inspiration amongst the fellow card makers as I had spent very little time creating last week.
It started at 10am and it finished at midnight, I lasted until  10.30 and made three cards plus a tag, so I was very pleased.

The Tag is made for   "Tag Tuesday, theme Surprise Me"
Now this is a challenge!  I have to admit that I had some help from the girls at SG.

I made a mini slider, it measures 3ins by 2ins until you slide it out.

It looks nothing special, as you view it front on.
I placed an inchie on the front with a web sprayed background.

Then you slide it out.........
The sentiment with the spider (thanks Chris) dangling from its web is meant to be humorous!!!!!!!
If you are smiling it has worked, if you are not then I guess the Tag is a complete failure, and perhaps we in SG need some serious help!
Anyway whatever, it was a great challenge and it was heaps of fun to make.

I will Post a card tomorrow that I think you will like.

A Heart Shaped Card...

Hello Everyone.
I wanted to enter the Die Cut Divas Challenge this month as it is on Shaped Cards and Dawn is the Moderator hosting this one, and I do enjoy doing the odd shape now and then.
If you remember I made a Tag awhile back out of a Heart, I thought this would be a good shape to make!!!!
I soon realised why there are not many Heart Shape cards out there.
Yes, well it sometimes takes awhile for the obvious to register, and of course it did very quickly.

It would not stand up!!!!!!!!! Huh. Now I was feeling a little more than stupid I can tell you.  But I am resourceful if nothing else, I mean I am not one to be beaten, no no this problem will be solved!!!!!..........
Anyway 10 mins later I had the card standing on its own, Yea...... I did a bit of squaring off at the point of the heart. I don't think it distracts from the Heart shape too much, well I hope not. Dawn may cancel me out as it not being true to shape! But, I am thinking, (I do think) she is my friend, we make cards together, I mean, I even demonstrated my water colour paper technique to her, gosh I even gave her some! (You reading this Dawn.)

Yea I'm Sweet.

I am supporting you all the way Dawn!
I hope you will all join in and make a shaped card, it is a lot of fun, especially when they do not work out ! Ha

St Davids Day and beyond..........

A Very Happy St Davids Day to all my Welsh Friends.

It is March 1st and although most you have no idea about St Davids Day and think that today is like any normal day. Well, I am here to tell you that to me and all Folks of Welsh Heritage that it is Special.
Even though I have spent most of my life in NZ, I still have wonderful memories of going to school in my Welsh Costume (unfortunately I have no photos). and learning about  my country, no subjects were taught and school finished at 12md, so that alone was a treat!  It was a morning spent singing (in Welsh) of course and celebrating our National Day.
The Welsh People are extremely proud of their Heritage, and sometimes I yearn to hear the Choirs. I do have CD'S of course but my dearest husband Rob (English Stock) unfortunately has no concept about Welsh singing and how it stirs my soul.
I still have my Welsh Accent!!!!

Linda at Funkie junkie.
Made this beautiful card last week, and it reminded me of Wales.
She was totally unaware that combining the Daffodil ( the National Flower) and the music element, symbolises everything about Wales.

I do not have a Daffodil Stamp, but nevertheless I was inspired to make a card.
I have NOT cased Lindas card.

We always sing out loud, Always.....

The Hedgehog has no symbolic meaning to anything Welsh.!!!!
None that I know of anyway.
If you click on the card you will notice I have stamped music on the background.

                                 Close up of Hedgie....

Well there you have it, your History lesson for today.

I have entered this card into I did it Creations Challenge #43 Punches an Dyes.

Cael diwrnod hyfryd. (Have a nice day).
 Smiles:)
